Al Gore Speaks At DNC
Al Gore is my homeboy. Decent speech tonight, Al. I’m not really a “what if” type of guy, but what if Al had been elected back in 2000 (well – the people elected him – the electoral college did not). Where would we be today? Al didn’t preach climate change all night, although it did come up. He brought up a quote from Thomas Edison in 1931 that I found particularly interesting.
Edison said to his friends Firestone and Henry Ford, “I’d put my money on the sun and solar energy. What a source of power! I hope we don’t have to wait until oil and coal run out before we tackle that.” 77 years later and look where we’re at.
Al’s funniest line came when he was talking about McCain adopting the Bush policies. “I believe in recycling, but that is ridiculous!”
