An Inconvenient Truth - The Sequel

Our blogger friend, La Margeurite posted yesterday about Al Gore.  Where has he been this entire election season?  He’s been lying pretty low.  I agree.  My guess is that he doesn’t want to endorse either front-runner on the Dem side, so he’s just biding time until there is one candidate.  My other theory is that we’ll be hearing a lot about Al in late March and throughout April.  Why?  Al has a new book coming out on Earth Day, April 22. 

The Path To Survival is the sequel to An Inconvenient Truth.  From the Guardian Unlimited in the UK:
In a statement it [Rodale Books - publisher] said the book would explain how “bold choices now to protect our environment will also create new jobs, propel sustainable economic improvements, and inspire a new generation to tackle our most challenging issues with moral leadership”.

From what I can tell - and it’s difficult to find much information on the upcoming book - it will about the next steps.  You’ve been motivated by An Inconvenient Truth and you want to take action.  Gore will outline steps that you can take as an indivual, a community, and finally the government.  It will be part science, part activism, and part visionary. 

In a press release from Rodale congratulating Al Gore on his Nobel Peace Prize win, they mention the following about the upcoming sequel:
In the new book, Vice President Gore will present, explain, and prioritize the solutions to the planetary emergency of global warming, introducing the people, companies, technologies, scientists, and politicians at the cutting edge of designing, engineering, debating, and fighting for these solutions. He will explain how making bold choices now to protect our environment will also create new jobs, propel sustainable economic improvements, and inspire a new generation to tackle our most challenging issues with moral leadership.
