Eat a Burrito. Support The Organic School Project.

Filed under: food — admin @ 8:06 pm

Organic School ProjectEat at any Chicagoland Chipotle on Friday, November 16th and you’ll be supporting The Organic School Project (OSP).  What is OSP you ask?  The mission statement reads, “The Organic School Project (OSP) seeks to help School-aged children become more mindful eaters, one school at a time.”  It was started by Greg Christian, “a Chicago-based professional chef with over 25 years of food experience, Greg Christian is the OSP founder and chairman of the Board.”

The OSP is currently working with three Chicago schools to educate children with three main elements in mind: Grow, Teach, Feed.  The children work with school and community gardens to grow organic produce.  They are learning hands-on gardeneing paired with food-related curriculum.  The end product is fresh, local, organic food.  The kids are eating this in their cafeteria.

Imagine students sitting down to a school lunch. Not just any lunch – but a meal students have a hand in planning and preparing, full of fresh fruits and vegetables that they even helped grow. Imagine students more connected to the food they eat, and making informed choices about what goes on their plate.

Every child should be able to have this opportunity.  Please support the OSP so that kids across America can get the food choices they deserve instead of constant high fructose corn syrup in every bite.  Take your friends out to lunch on Friday at Chipotle in Chicagoland.
