Bottled Water Ban in Chicago
The Chicago RedEye reports that the Cook County board (Chicago is in Cook Cty) voted to ban bottled water from county sponsored events. The county forest preserve board also voted yesterday to ban the purchasing of bottled water.
Check it: “The county spends more than $400,000 annually on bottled water, a product that has come under attack in recent months for wasting fuel and plastic, given people’s easy access to tap water.”
For the record - Chicago has some of the cleanest water in the nation that is fed from Lake Michigan.
The RedEye has a Bottled Water Ban section that is worth checking. Watch the video, too.
